About Convert Image
Image formats each solve a different problem, which is why converting between them is so routine. JPG is universal and small but discards detail permanently. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, which makes it right for logos and screenshots but heavy for photographs. WebP typically produces files around thirty percent smaller than JPG at comparable quality. AVIF goes further still and is the best modern choice for the web, though support in older software is patchy.
Then there is HEIC, which iPhones use by default and which a great many websites and applications simply refuse to accept. Converting HEIC to JPG is one of the most common image tasks there is, and one many converters will not handle at all.
This tool converts between JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, GIF, BMP, TIFF and SVG using the same encoders that browsers and image tooling rely on, including MozJPEG and OxiPNG, compiled to WebAssembly. Batch conversion is supported, so a folder of hundreds of photos is one operation.
One point worth knowing: converting from a lossy format to a lossless one does not restore what was already discarded. A JPG saved as PNG becomes a larger file containing exactly the same visible detail. Convert from the highest quality original you have wherever possible.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert HEIC photos from my iPhone?
Add them and choose JPG. HEIC is decoded in your browser, so there is no need for a separate conversion step or an app, and the photos are not uploaded.
Which format should I use for the web?
WebP for broad support with good compression, or AVIF for the smallest files if your audience uses current browsers. Keep JPG as a fallback where compatibility matters more than size.
Will converting reduce quality?
Converting to a lossless format such as PNG preserves what is there. Converting to a lossy format such as JPG or WebP applies compression, though at high quality settings the difference is not visible.
Can I convert a whole folder at once?
Yes. Add as many files as you like and take the results as a single ZIP. Processing happens on your device, so there is no upload wait and no file count limit.
