About Add Blank Pages

Blank pages get inserted for practical reasons. A double sided print needs chapters to start on a right hand page, a bound document needs a blank verso, or a form needs space for handwritten notes that will be added after printing.

Choose where the blank pages go, at the start, at the end, or after any page you name, and how many to add. Inserted pages match the size and orientation of the page they follow, so a blank added after a landscape spreadsheet comes out landscape too.

The insertion does not disturb existing content. Pages are added into the sequence and everything else is copied across unchanged, so text stays selectable and image quality is untouched.

Blank pages add almost nothing to file size, because an empty page is a few bytes of structure with no content stream to speak of. Adding twenty is not a meaningful cost.

How to add blank pages

  1. Open the PDF

Drop the file in. Page thumbnails render locally so you can see the current sequence.

  2. Choose position and count

Pick where blanks go and how many to insert.

Frequently asked questions

What size will the blank page be?

It matches the page it is inserted after, including orientation. A blank following a landscape page is landscape.

Can I add several blanks in different places?

Yes. Add them in one pass or repeat the operation, since the output of one run can immediately be the input to the next.

Does this increase file size much?

Barely. A blank page carries no content, so the addition is a negligible amount of structural data.

Can I add a blank page to a scanned document?

Yes. The blank is a proper empty page rather than a white image, so it prints cleanly and does not carry scanner noise.
